Once upon a canvas in 2014, a magical series called the Dream Series was born. Shane, the talented artist behind these whimsical creations, sought to weave wonders using a mix of artistic mediums, conjuring organic effects that danced across the canvas like dreams. Amongst the abstract swirls and colors, female face's were added, playfully becoming one with the organic shapes, transforming the abstract into enchanting hair.
The Name

It was back in 2007 when the magic of naming his artwork began. Firstly thank you for my plaques! I feel privileged to now own a piece of your artwork. I love the quality and care and pride that they were made with. The thickness of the wood allows it to stand alone without assistance, but it also has a meticulously precise drilled hole so can also be hung up which makes it perfect! I like the thought that went into this. The finished coat on top of the print is varnished on in
paint strokes visible to the eye, so creatively done preserving this piece for many years to come. The border of the wood is finished off in a very modern almost shabby chic style adding to the overall prodigious finish. The artist stamp and signature on the back gives it identity of ownership. This is ingenious and inventive as it doesn’t detract from the overall painting on the front but still shows off its creator.
Thank you for drawing the public in to be a part of your artwork. From the moment I saw her I knew I wanted to be a part of her journey and naming her allowed me this. I have such admiration for your artwork. Thank you for choosing Phantasmagoria as her name.
The artist (Shane Turner) entices his audience with this enchantingly painted woman, for us to unravel her mystery. Each person analyzing her differently to what they see in her. Her beautifully proportioned face, with subtle curves shows off a woman who is focused on something else other than the viewer as she gazes downwards. Her beauteous manicured eyebrow raised showing us she is either in disapproval or intrigued in her dreamy thoughts. Her nose is exquisite! So calm holding no tension. Her jaw bone is relaxed, showing us no anxiety as her mouth is ever so slightly open, spellbound in thought. Her hair captivates the audience taking us into this phantasmagoria, revealing another world and new dimension to the viewer. A bridge leading us in, almost saying ‘come in, come into my world’. As you see trees and branches, but no leaves visible showing and accentuating an apprehensive environment with little houses below like a village that has remained together. The artist leaves this up to a figment of our imagination as he leads us down to her neck with a ship sailing with sweeping sails on the ocean with its monumental waves giving us a sense of navigation and vision of where she has been or where she wishes to return to or where she ishes to go. She leads us on a sequence of imaginary and very real images like that of a dream, all portrayed in this painting revealing Phantasmagoria.
